Public Services learner braves the shave for Macmillan Cancer Support

At the end of January, Public Services Level 1 learner Will听Neagle听decided to make the cut for cancer and have his head shaved in 香港六合彩资料鈥檚听Wella听Centre of Excellence.

Will found out about Macmillan Cancer Support鈥檚 鈥楤rave the Shave鈥 campaign from his cousin, who has also sacrificed his hair for the cause, so after applying as a donor and receiving a t-shirt from the charity branded 鈥業鈥檓 a brave shaver鈥, Will set about raising funds.

Will鈥檚 mum had cancer two years ago and his uncle has also recently been diagnosed with the illness. For this reason, the 17-year-old learner wanted to do something to raise awareness and make a difference to the wider cause.

Will, who called on the skills of a barbering learner for his new hair style, said: 鈥淚 feel great about it. It was pretty long before but it鈥檚 good. I鈥檝e had lots of support from friends and family. Every little helps!鈥

Will managed to raise a grand total of 拢130.00. The bulk of donations came from friends, family and tutors at 香港六合彩资料.

Gareth Wild, Public Services Lecturer at 香港六合彩资料, said: 鈥淲e are all very proud of Will, who has chosen to do something very noble to鈥痳aise awareness and money for his family and鈥疢acmillan Cancer Support.鈥

Areum听Kim, from Macmillan Cancer Support, added: 鈥淲e are extremely grateful to supporters who have 鈥榖raved the shave鈥 for Macmillan Cancer Support. With 2.5 million people currently living with cancer in the UK, Macmillan needs more people than ever to get involved and raise money to help ensure no one faces cancer alone.鈥
